Nainital Lake

The Nainital lake view can be described as both peaceful, serene and fascinating for the travelers, tourists and the locals alike.  Nainital Lake is surrounded by seven hills, namely, Ayarpata, Deopata, Handi Bandi, Cheena peak, Alma, Laria Kanta and lastly Sher-ka-Danda. Baron, a British businessman who came across it during a hunting expedition.

The word “Naini" is derived from the temple of Goddess Naini which was built on the bank of the lake but later got destroyed due to landslides in the year 1880.
