For Indians, Maldives is a prominent honeymoon destination. A lot of tourists travel from Mumbai to Maldives to witness the charm of this exotic destination. There are many ways to reach Maldives from Mumbai, the most convenient one being  a Mumbai to Maldives flight. One can also opt for the sea route to travel to Maldives but flights are more convenient as the average Mumbai to Maldives flight duration is approximately 5 hours. The plus is Maldives has lenient Visa policies and one can enter Maldives easily. After entering, 30 days visa is issued to the traveler. In India, Bangalore is the nearest place to Maldives and flight takes only two hours from here to reach Maldives.

The approximate distance from Mumbai to Maldives is around 1672 kilometers. 2.5 Kilometres away from the capital city, Male International Airport resides at Hulhule Island. Apart from this, Gan Airport at Addu also serves Maldives and one can use this as a gateway to Maldives. This airport handles mostly international flights.

Mumbai To Maldives By Flight:

 

Flights flown from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport to the direct Male International Airport (MLE) take around 5 hours to reach. Male International Airport is also known as Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. Cochin and Bangalore also provide direct flight connectivity to Maldives. Spicejet, Jet Airways, and Air India are popular carriers from Mumbai that ensures arrival of passenger at the Male Airport.

Connecting flights are also available from Mumbai to Maldives. Major stopovers of connecting flights are Doha, Colombo, Dubai, and Istanbul.

Apart from this, seaplanes are a must try. They can take up to 15 passengers. It picks people from the airport and drops then at popular resorts. They are low altitude flights which do not run in the night. It is advisable to book the tickets at the earliest possible.

 

Mumbai To Maldives By Cruise:

 

No cruise ships go to Maldives. There are some private yachts though which are duty bound to cross the sea and reach Maldives. In Maldives, ships and boats are the best way to travel.

There is no sea route for Maldives from Mumbai. So, the flights are the most convenient way to reach Maldives from Mumbai. From Ibrahim Nasir Airport, one can take ferry to reach Maldives as it is around 2 kilometres away from the airport and a ferry takes only five minutes to cover this distance. Ferry, speed boats, taxi boats, Dhonis are public and local boats which are used there to go from one place to another. Seaplanes are the fastest means of transportation for reaching from one island to another. These are quite expensive though if compared to speedboats and ferries.

 

 

Mumbai To Maldives By Road:

 

In Maldives, only two destinations provide taxi services which are Male and Addu. After reaching, one can use this way to explore the city. There is no direct road connectivity from Mumbai to Maldives.
