Since the distance between Pune and Kashmir is about 2,000 km, travellers should book their flight/train tickets well in advance. Jammu and Srinagar are principal gateways for travellers visiting the state. Are you wondering how to reach Kashmir from Pune? Take a look at following ways to visit Kashmir from Pune.

By Air: Pune doesn’t have direct flights to Jammu and Srinagar. However, travellers can take connecting flights from Pune to Mumbai/Delhi and then Jammu/Srinagar. Air India, GoAir, Jet Airways, and SpiceJet provide nonstop flights between Pune International Airport (PNQ) and Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

By Rail: Jhelum Express daily runs between Jammu Tawi railway station (JAT) and Pune Junction (PUNE). The minimum travel time taken on this route, which passes through Bhopal and Delhi, is 41 hour 30 minutes. Travellers can also board a flight or Mumbai Delhi Rajdhani Express to save time.

By Road: Travellers from Pune can plan some part of their travel to Kashmir on the road. Either take a drive on the high-speed Mumbai Pune Expressway before boarding a flight from Mumbai to Srinagar or take a flight from Pune to Delhi and then drive to Srinagar. Car rentals and AC/Sleeper buses are available between Mumbai and Pune. Direct road distance between Pune and Srinagar is about 2,300 km.

As the planned changed at the last moment due to snow fall the hotel provided by the team charged extra (in signature hotel) and the hotel provided in srinagar (pomposh hotel) was pathetic. I got sock due to poor heating facility. Our driver lateef was very helpful throughout the trip.

We were travelling to Pahalgam from Gulmarg and on the way heavy snowfall started. We enjoyed a lot initially. Created a lot of memories but soon it became a nightmare when we got stuck on the road for more than 10 hours due to roadblocks. It was a thrilling night. But Touqeer has managed to somehow drive in the slippery road and finally we reached Pahalgam without any major issues. It was a night to remember forever.
