How To Reach Kashmir From Mumbai

Taking an airline to reach Jammu and Kashmir from Mumbai, located in southwestern India, is the quickest mode of transport. Like all other metros in India, the city of Mumbai offers multiple options for interstate transport. If you’re a Mumbaikar wondering how to reach Kashmir from Mumbai, pick one of the following options that suits you best.

By Air: Direct flights between Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) and Jammu & Kashmir are provided by GoAir, IndiGo, Jet Airways, and SpiceJet. Some connecting flights between Mumbai and Srinagar make a halt usually in Delhi. The flight from Mumbai to Srinagar takes about two hours.

By Rail: Travellers can either reach directly to Jammu from Mumbai via Katra Mumbai Pure AC or Swaraj Express passenger trains. Alternatively, take Rajdhani or Duranto Express from Mumbai to Delhi to save time and then board a train leaving from Delhi to Jammu. Keep in mind, travellers should opt for air travel to save time and money, especially if you are making travel arrangements at least a month in advance.

By Road: This is the most time-consuming mode of transport of all. The distance between Mumbai and Delhi alone is more than 1,400 km. To visit Kashmir from Mumbai, travellers can reach Delhi either by flight or train and then make rest of the journey on road. A bus ride or driving a car or bike from Delhi to Jammu takes 12 to 14 hours on average. Travellers can follow NH 44 from Delhi to reach Srinagar.

As the planned changed at the last moment due to snow fall the hotel provided by the team charged extra (in signature hotel) and the hotel provided in srinagar (pomposh hotel) was pathetic. I got sock due to poor heating facility. Our driver lateef was very helpful throughout the trip.

We were travelling to Pahalgam from Gulmarg and on the way heavy snowfall started. We enjoyed a lot initially. Created a lot of memories but soon it became a nightmare when we got stuck on the road for more than 10 hours due to roadblocks. It was a thrilling night. But Touqeer has managed to somehow drive in the slippery road and finally we reached Pahalgam without any major issues. It was a night to remember forever.
