About Kowloon Park In Hong Kong
Kowloon Park is located in the central part of Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong. Sprawling across an area of nearly 13.5 hectares, Kowloon Park is one of the largest parks in Kowloon. It is famously known as the ‘green lung’ of the entire city. Inaugurated by the then Governor of Hong Kong, Sir David Trench, the park was rebuilt in the year 1989. It was funded by the former Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club and with an expense of nearly HK$300 million.
The Kowloon Park in Hong Kong is a famous tourist attraction. It is remarkable for its distinct Chinese style of architecture. You will find a wide variety of flowers and trees here. Also, it is a complete treat to birdwatchers as this park is home to rare species of birds. Kowloon Park is blessed with a host of scenic spots around it. There are a lot of things for tourists to enjoy here. Some of the brilliant scenic spots include the Color Garden, Maze Garden, Chinese Garden, Roof Gardens, Banyan Court and Bird Lake. There are establishments for tourists that include a mini soccer pitch, a Children's Playground, the Fitness Trail, Discovery Playground, a piazza, an aviary, a swimming pool and a sports center. Kowloon Park swimming pool can hold up to 1500 people and remains one of the best equipped pools in Hong Kong.
On Fridays, the Kowloon Park welcomes tourists for the activity of bird watching from 07:30 to 09:30, at a free cost. On Sundays, there are cost-free performances at the establishment of Sculpture Walk. There is also scope for a lively shopping experience in Kowloon Park.
Visit the Park Lane Shopper's Boulevard which is close to Kowloon Park. It is redolent of the American style and the shops here offer apparels from domestic as well as international places. Head to the park if you are tired of shopping.
