Festivals Celebrated in Udaipur

Gangaur: Gangaur also famous as the Mewar festival is the grandest and most important festival celebrated in Gangaur. The whole Udaipur comes to life during this festival as various classical folk dances and traditional music performances are performed. The festival is celebrated in the month of April every year. It can be considered as the best time to visit Udaipur and Mount Abu in terms of festivities. 

Diwali: Diwali is the most important festival of the Hindu religion which is celebrated with great pomp and show. During the Diwali festivities, the streets, malls, and markets are all lit up. The houses are decorated with candles. Lanterns, fairy lights, flowers, etc and the whole city looks vibrant and quirky. Diwali is usually celebrated in the month of October or November.

Holi: This is another festival that is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Udaipur. The royal families of Udaipur actively participate in all the rituals and ceremonies of the festival. The festival is celebrated in the month of March.  

Shilpgram Utsav: This Utsav takes place in the last week of December wherein a 10 days festival is held at the Shilpgram village where you can shop for artistic products and handicrafts from different parts of the country.
