The easiest way to reach Srinagar from New Delhi is via flights, since it is not just the fastest mode of transport, but also a lot more cost-effective than other modes of transport, considering overall costs. Reaching from Delhi to Srinagar via flight takes nearly 1.5 hours on a direct flight and more than 7 hours on a connecting flight. Many flights operate from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Sheikh Ul-Alam International Airport Srinagar (SXR) on a daily basis. The New Delhi to Srinagar distance by flight is around 650 km. The main airport in Srinagar is the Srinagar International Airport (SXR), offering local as well as international connectivity.

Upon landing at the Srinagar International Airport, which is nearly 15 km away from the city center of Srinagar, there are plenty of personal and shared taxis available for tourists to commute. The charges for hiring a personal taxi ranges from 300 to 800 depending upon the destination, whereas the shared taxis charge within the range of 100-250 based on the destination. Delhi To Srinagar By Flight: If planning to travel the distance from Delhi to Srinagar by air then one can take direct flights from Delhi airport operated by various airlines like GoAir, AirAsia and Vistara. SpiceJet and Indigo also operate flights in this route with stopovers in between. Flights are a great option for saving on time when trying to travel from Delhi to Srinagar. It takes around 1.5 hours to reach Srinagar from Delhi by a direct flight.

Delhi to Srinagar By Train: There are no direct Delhi to Srinagar trains, one has no option but to take connecting trains and alternative routes between the two destinations. The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which is more than 300 km away from Srinagar. This, however, is one of the cheapest modes of transport between Delhi and Srinagar. It takes a total of 10 hours to reach Jammu from New Delhi, after which there are plenty of local buses and private taxis available to take you to Srinagar, within 5 to 6 hours. The cost of hiring a private taxi would be around 8,000 INR, whereas a local bus would cost around 600 to 700 INR.

Delhi to Srinagar By Car: If planning to travel from Delhi to Srinagar by road, one can cover the distance of 810 km in about 17 hours and 41 Minutes via NH 44. The route goes through Punjab towards Srinagar and is a very pleasant and fun drive.

Delhi to Srinagar By Bus: There is currently no direct Delhi to Srinagar bus that can be taken but buses to Jammu are easily available from Delhi, and connecting options are available from Jammu to Srinagar via taxi or local government buses.

Overall experience was good. At Pehalgam we stayed at The Villagio as the one was chosen by us it was the best hotel. The hotel at Srinagar was Golden Sands which lacked good breakfast, dont forget to carry Shower gel, tooth brush etc. and warm clothes as they only provide a soap and Shampoo pouch a

nd heater only from 7 to 10 and few hours in morning otherwise u have to manage with blankets. The driver Nasir was good in nature, apart from few hicups all was great and accomodating reporting to his boss every small thing .. our Tour guide Ms. Rida was always supportive, guiding us and always atttentive to our cause, even on sunday and one day where she needed to intensively communicate with transporter. We are satisfied with the response time and the services. However she did nt fulfill her promise of complimentary honeymoon package (Just a cake though) may be due to christmas eve. The trip was good and overall it was a pleasant experience. Except for the cab driver who was not cooperative and didn't inform us about the locations and the local cab pricing. The people in Kashmir are sweet-spoken but, they do charge exorbitantly for every service/product and, you need to be good

enough to bargain as the price quotes were almost 10x more than reasonable. The RoadToTrip agent - Pankaj Giri was very helpful and available when needed but, contacting him at every location was not feasible. The hotel and cab arrangements were well-managed.
